This was the most perfect project for a drizzly morning. The kids started out calm, running their fingers through the gritty compost and powdery clay. But as soon as it turned to mud, their energy grew and grew! By the time most of the balls were made, the kids were happily tromping through the garden to SMASH them into the ground. Since then, many basil, sage, and thyme plants have grown.
