For Valentine's Day, Jake and Julia's mom volunteered to come in on Tuesday and Wednesday to help the kids hand out their cards and goodies. The pretty red bags were kindly donated by Adela's mom, and they made the holiday even more special! The kids in both classes baked cinnamon- rose scented salt-dough hearts for their mommies and daddies. Boy oh boy, did the school smell good!
During the second half of the week, the kids in Ms. Melodie's class made Mexican hot chocolate (for the famous day of love) and Ms. Marie's class made waffles in honor of President's Day. Did you know that Thomas Jefferson brought a waffle iron back from Paris because he loved them so much? Ms. Melodie's students plan on making them next week too. Our school is going to smell like a gourmet restaurant for two weeks straight!
This afternoon, the kids cleaned the classroom while listening to goofy music and dancing wildly. They celebrated such a beautiful job with a tea party. Have a great extended weekend!
