It was a busy week preparing for picture day and conferences next week that we only took three photos during all of Monday and Tuesday! To compensate for the shortage of photographs this week, here's a short description of what we did:
We welcomed several guests to school for classroom observations! We were so proud to see our students shine in moments of welcoming them and sharing what they do in class.
We brought in May with lots of strawberries for snack and even chocolate covered ones for a little boy's birthday!
Ms. Danna donated her daughters' old sports toys to the school, so the kids had a blast playing with basketballs, footballs, hula hoops, and more.!
They planted potatoes one beautiful afternoon during class and worked with Ms. Kristin to pull weeds surrounding our garden beds. Today they're going to enjoy the weather after class with an outdoor tea party with homemade iced tea!
...and as always, they continued to learn. There has been an explosion of new readers, children fascinated by the layers of the earth, Russian dolls, planets, painted targets, bows and arrows, and continents. Our smallest children were intrigued by our new multi-sensory practical life lesson that involves crushing smelly coriander seeds, and they managed to go through the last of our coffee beans in the grinder!
