First the kids made sweet smelling orange decorations by poking cloves inside.
Then we celebrated a birthday with homemade "pink robot cupcakes."
The kids found this fabulous moth on the window outisde. "Bug alert! Bug alert!" they call every time a new creature is discovered. (The neighbors must be perplexed...)
We made homemade dog biscuits and Ms. McKenzie delivered them to the shelter near her house. The dogs were very thankful and the shelter wrote the kids a sweet thank you note.
Another bug alert...
The kids made homemade GAK! We used a simple recipe calling for elmer's glue and borax.
The sprinkler made its first debut during a week where the temperatures tipped towards 100 F. It's a big hit. We finally found what seems to be a kid-proof sprinkler too! It's free of plastic and little breakable parts, so the kids can step on it, drop it, and it still stays intact.
The tires have become planets now.
... and here's our group of slumbering "babies."
The playground was painted with a variety of rollers, sponges, and water.
...while the stumps were painted with tempera.
They collaborated on this fantastic mural too!
It got a little wild!
