That's what this blog is all about, right? Capturing sweet little moments in our days at school... and what a great job that is! We had an absolutely beautiful and rejuvenating week with unseasonally warm weather. Ms. Melodie's class spent a lot of time outside repotting the indoor plants, tidying up the nature table, and even going back out today to clean up the mess of gloves and shovels that were left yesterday! This is such a wonderful way to bring the lessons of a Montessori classroom outdoors.
Ms. Marie's students are studying Mexico in full throttle! They're having a blast wearing the sombrero and special serape ponchos. On Thursday and Friday we made Mexican hot chocolate by spinning a molinillo with a block of spiced chocolate and warm milk. They're preparing to learn about the famous artist Diego Rivera next week. We ordered some very interesting books about his art for the classroom library and are excited to share them with the children.
We also spent the week doing some major spring cleaning inside the school. Mr. Melvin installed some shelves in the Atrium so we can house our expanding book collection. It's wonderful to have all of them in one place and categorized. The classroom closets are also making progress. After winter, we are always so happy to reorganize our art supplies and paper assortments. We hope you're making similar refreshing progress in your own homes. It feels so good! Have a wonderful weekend!
