A very friendly naturalist from Piney Run Park came to visit this August. He brought with him some interesting creatures, including a tarantula, hissing cockroaches, a turtle, a snake, and an owl. Typically, owls can be somewhat aggressive and unsafe to be around small children. This sweet owl, however, was hit by a car and the part of his brain that triggers aggression was damaged. Fortunately, the park saved his life, nursed him back to health, and now he's a very friendly little guy. The kids loved him.
