Community Garden Party!

Hello everyone, it's been a couple of weeks since our last post, but that's because of this very special event! Families gathered for an evening of homemade food and good old fashioned gardening. Thank you so much for your participation in making this party the success that it was. We listened to traditional folk music and met some heirloom variety chickens on behalf of Miss Eleanor and her two wonderful sons.

But aside from all of these (already quite festive) festivities, face painting seemed to be the biggest hit of all. When I arrived during lunch time, the kids were already telling me what they wanted to have painted. "A baseball!" "A unicorn!" "A mermaid!" And when it finally happened, you'd think I was some hit songwriter. The kids crowded around me, as if around a concert stage. "It's my turn now!" Where are all the face painting guards when you need them?! Regardless of my wiggling arm, the kids' faces turned out pretty cute, and the population of rainbow butterflies expanded a great deal that night...
