Lahleb Bilouz (among other things...)

It's almost here! Just one more week left until winter vacation! The kids are getting really excited to buy presents for Tyler and Kaya, the children from Neighbors in Need. Yesterday, the Appalachian Mission Store donated some brand new books, matchbox cars, and toy horses. Remember that Monday is the last day to donate money. Ms. McKenzie will go shopping on Tuesday, and the kids will wrap the presents in class on Wednesday and Thursday.

Our Shepherd's Staff project has also gone exceedingly well! Our front window is piled high with stockings. If you would still like to donate one, make sure to bring it at the beginning of next week.

In the pictures above, you may wonder what that strange green chunky milk is. In Morocco it's called lahleb bilouz (pronounced la-hilip belouse) which is translated into "Almond with Milk."

per drink: 1/2 cup milk, sugar to taste, small handful of slivered almonds, stir together in blender, at the very end, top with crushed pistachios
