Happy Halloween

Well, winter seems to be upon us suddenly! Snow is scheduled to fall tomorrow and it's still only October! The kids had a wonderful time gathering leaves and pine needles this week. They also harvested some baby spinach and spotted some tiny peas growing where the white flowers were. We released the Monarch butterflies on Thursday. Ms. Melodie's class has been decorating the fence with weaving ribbons to add some color to the changing landscape.

This week the kids have been preparing for Halloween by singing songs, reading stories, and most excitingly... baking spider cupcakes. These cupcakes turned out to be quite an adventure! Chocolate covered hands translate into chocolate covered walls, clothes, mouths, hair, teachers, chickens... Not to mention, these so-called "spiders" ended up looking an awful lot like bats!

Happy Halloween!
