Spring Planting and Omelettes

This was such a busy week, but in the best of ways! The kids have been learning about seeds, bulbs, and new plant growth in general. Ms. Marie's class experimented by planting lima beans and kidney beans in wet cotton balls and another set in little pots with soil. It will be interesting for the kids to be able to see how the seeds open under the cotton balls, and to see which set sprouts first. Each of Ms. Melodie's students got to "force" their own paperwhite flower bulb by setting them in glasses with stones and water. Ms. Marie's students also made egg omelettes with grated cheddar cheese. They felt so grown-up being able to flip the eggs in the pan, especially since they had also gathered the eggs from our hens! Both classes are also really interested in making mazes with the red rods right now, and our students continue to make leaps and bounds in the reading and math departments.
All is well! Spring is coming!
